Gibbs out for three weeks, Clichy and Djourou will be available and Fabregas’ inclusion will be decided late

With qualification into Champions League knockout stages confirmed, all attention now is shifted towards the Man Utd fixture. A match whose result won’t decide the title but may shed light on what to expect in the coming weeks.

At the moment we have got some mixed injury news ahead of it. Fabregas, who is recovering from his hamstring injury, is still uncertain to start on Monday. The final decision for his inclusion in the squad will be decided very late.

“We could have Cesc Fabregas [back]. But there is a big uncertainty if he can be in the squad or not. That will be decided very late.”

With Fabregas saying himself that he won’t risk his hamstring so I don’t see him featuring in the match if he isn’t 100 percent fit. A recurrence of his injury now will make him also miss the Chelsea match at the end of this month.

Gibbs: Out for three weeks

From last night’s match we have only lost Gibbs due to his ankle injury. The latest on him is that it will be three weeks before he can return.

“We have lost Kieran Gibbs from Wednesday night but he should be the only one. We think today that he will be out for three weeks.”

Wenger is very disappointed with the injury, which was an accident, and hoped it doesn’t affect Gibbs and makes him feel that he is injured. lately he has been going in and out from the squad due to injuries. He further added that there isn’t major damage to his ankle but it will take time to recover.

“I am very disappointed [about it]. I hope it will not put in his mind that he is an injured player. It was just an accident and you cannot do anything about it. Time will help him get over that and it is not major damage in his ankle.”

In good news we will have Djourou available for Monday. He missed last night’s match due to a minor thigh problem. Clichy will also return after his rest. Wenger hopes that he will progress well to be fit for Monday night.

“We could have Johan Djourou available for Monday night. He should be fine. We should have [Gael] back [for Monday]. He was in today. He was very weak still but we hope he will progress well.”
