Arsenal vs Tottenham preview: A chance to go top!

A win is what we want!

We return from the mini International break unscathed in terms of injuries and take on the spuds today at the Emirates.  We have a chance to go top today at least for a few hours and for that we need to win this game by whatever means we can.

In teams news we have Wilshere available and fit to play after his successful test. We have the same players out as last week; Vermaelen, Diaby, Almunia. Koscielny returns to squad after his two match suspension.

We have a strong squad available to choose from. The team that I would like to see is

Probable XI: Fabianski, Sagna, Squillaci, Koscielny, Clichy, Song, Fabregas, Wilshere, Arshavin, Chamakh, Nasri.

Fabianski to start in goal. Although Djourou did well in the last two matches but I see him getting replaced with Koscielny. Squillaci and Sagna to retain their places. Clichy may get the nod ahead of Gibbs due to match fitness concerns.

Fabregas and Song are sure to return to the midfield. Although Wilshere is fit but I don’t see him in the starting eleven. Denilson was brilliant in the Everton game and he stabilized our midfield and I have a feeling he will start. He sits deep and helps in keeping the possession. He keeps it simple and that is what we require today.

Upfront Chamakh to start again as we might see Van Persie as a substitute. It is difficult to keep Nasri out as he has been brilliant so far. I also see Arshavin to start because he helps us with his directness even though many say that he has been below par.

So it’s a pretty strong line up. We would have plenty to choose from the bench too if things are not going our way. It will be a feisty match as they would want to win as much as we want.

The talking points are of course Gareth Bale and Van Der Vaart‘s contributions. I believe we have enough quality to suppress the Spuds but we would have to be at our best. No slackness even for second. Because that second may cost us dearly as both of them can be game changers.

We have game changers of our own too with likes of Fabregas, Van Persie, Walcott and Arshavin.  Nasri is not far behind but we need a team performance to get a win. We have been brilliant away on the road and we need to show that form at our home.

Our back line has been very good along with the keeper. Up front Chamakh and company are also doing great. The midfield although has been below par at times, but they have been contributing in other areas and that has been the difference on occasions. Still the problem we have is of consistency.

Yet I expect us to win today. We can only be consistent by winning matches and simply I do not want to lose to the Spuds. We  have the confidence from our last two games but we need the performance on the field. A win would see us go on top and with Chelsea having a tricky away fixture we might remain there. I am getting excited but let’s not get ahead of times and simply win this one.

Keep the faith and Fingers Crossed!
