Arshavin needs to prove a point, Fabregas and manager of the decade

October 24, 2010

Andrei Arshavin has recently come under the spot light for his lackluster performance against Birmingham. Some have argued that he doesn’t give his hundred percent and looks out of touch. But his stats tell a different story. He has been on target 5 times with three assists in all competitions this season. He might not look like giving his best but he still is effective. Man City vs Arsenal Preview: We need nothing short of a win

October 23, 2010

A must win game for us!

The big match is just round the corner. It’s big because simply put we have to win it to close the gap on both Chelsea and Man city and we also need to prove our title credentials.

Man city are enjoying a good run of games and they have been one of the two teams to have won against Chelsea this season. Last season they did the double over Chelsea and got 4 out of 6 points against us. Read the rest of this entry »

Arsenal 5 – 1 Shakhtar Report: Being clinical makes the difference + ratings

October 20, 2010

Clinical! That was one clinical display of football. It was the brilliance of Arsenal in the final third that proved to be the difference this time as we made it look simple.

The game started with us taking the early initiative. We moved the ball around well with some lovely play by Wilshere, Chamakh and Rosicky. We were continuously probing for the goal. Credit to Shakhtar for being disciplined at the back. We were rewarded for continuously harassing the Shakhtar defence. Read the rest of this entry »

Arsenal vs Shakhtar: Preview, it will be interesting

October 19, 2010

Champions league football is back and we are to face Shakhtar Donetsk at home tonight. We ourselves have been successful in our opening games in the Champions league. So it will be a very well balanced match as they will be tough nut to crack.

Wenger’s press conference: Fabregas and Walcott both available for Shakhtar

October 18, 2010

The game against Shaktar is next for us and as usual Wenger had a pre-match press conference.

Fabregas: Will be in the squad

There were no surprises this time as Wenger announced that Fabregas will be available for the match. Fabregas, this morning trained with the team and is said to be fit for selection in the squad. Wenger is unsure of whether to start with him or not. I feel that Fabregas should start on the bench and come on as a substitute to give him some playing time, and that if he is hundred percent because we would need him in the match against Man City. Wilshere should start this match as he is going to miss the next three games. Read the rest of this entry »

Some Concerns from the Birmingham game

October 18, 2010

The game on Saturday was not an eye catching encounter but one where we did enough to get the important three points. After only one point from the last three games it was a necessary win for us. The game, as we started and dominated with the possession, should have been an easy encounter for us but as always we made things complicated for our own selves. Still we got the win albeit some controversy and frustration, I am in no way complaining here, just a fact.

Arsenal 2 – 1 Birmingham: Report, deserved win but frustrating at times

October 16, 2010

Arsenal 2 : Nasri 41, Chamakh 47

Birmingham 1: Zigic 33

Arsenal secures a win despite going down a goal and then a man near the end.

Not one of the convincing performances by us in the first half but we managed to control the game in the second which was enough to get the three points. Read the rest of this entry »
