The game against Shaktar is next for us and as usual Wenger had a pre-match press conference.
There were no surprises this time as Wenger announced that Fabregas will be available for the match. Fabregas, this morning trained with the team and is said to be fit for selection in the squad. Wenger is unsure of whether to start with him or not. I feel that Fabregas should start on the bench and come on as a substitute to give him some playing time, and that if he is hundred percent because we would need him in the match against Man City. Wilshere should start this match as he is going to miss the next three games.
Wenger is also unsure about Walcott’s appearance. Though, he too is available for squad selection. There is a toe problem for him whereas the ankle is fine. For Walcott I would also say the same, bring him on as a substitute and only if fully fit.
Wenger is unsure about the squad as he would decide it overnight.
As for the other injured players including Koscielny, Vermaelen , Almunia and Van Persie, they are all unavailable.
“Cesc is available. He is good and has prepared well. He had a little setback but got over the hurdle and is ready to play at full fitness. I do not know yet whether I start him or not but he is available. It will be [determined by] whether I take a gamble or not, because he has been out for a long time. I have to make up my mind tomorrow but physically he is ready, fit and wanting to play. Theo has a toe problem. But his ankle is all right and he is in the squad. It would be difficult for me to tell you who will start because I do not know yet. But Koscielny, Vermaelen and Van Persie are all out and not available.” source: www.arsenal.com
A big injury boost for us as Fabregas will return after being out for almost a month. Looking forward to a Cescy performance from him. As for Walcott, looking forward to his return to the form he showed before he was injured.
Keep the faith!
