So to the first game at The Emirates, red and white vs the orange. After Blackpool’s flying start last week they would be hoping to get something from this match. Arsenal on the other hand would be hoping to get the three points they missed on last week.
The last outing against Blackpool was a victory (3 – 1) for Arsenal way back in 1999. Last season Arsenal lost only two games at home and the orange team would be hard pressed to chalk out a result.
On the injury front we have already lost two players with the season only a week old. Samir Nasri is out for three weeks due to cartilage injury and Emanuel Frimpong for 6 to 9 months due to cruciate injury. The good news is we have got Cesc Fabregas, Johan Djourou and Alex Song back in squad. Denilson, though, is still doubtful. Laurent Koscielny is out due to suspension.
Predicted starting IX: Almunia Sagna Vermaelen Djourou Clichy Diaby Fabregas Song Rosicky Chamakh Arshavin
This should be an easy match for Arsenal and the three points shouldn’t be much of a problem. An early goal always helps and a goal in the start would put Blackpool on the back foot and all the points secured.
Predicted score: Arsenal 3 – 0 Blackpool
